Street Fighter 4 Wii Iso

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has proven that an awesome 2D fighter by Capcom can be accomplished on Wii. Obviously, that game can likely never leave Japan, but the foundation is there. SFIV would likely look like a faded T-shirt if ported over to Wii, so I'd much rather see something completely new and specific for the system -- preferably something that simply used either the Wii Remote sideways, the Classic/GCN Controller, or even arcade sticks like the ones being sold for SFIV.

That much is certain. But the producer has already gone on record of saying he won't. If I recall the few month old interview correctly, he said how he wanted Street Fighter to be 100% accessable/playable to everyone who picked up the controller for the first time. With all the different control types and set ups with the Wii, he couldn't guarantee that set up for everyone, so he chose to just skip SF4 on the Wii outright. I'm pretty sure Street Fighter IV could be handled on the Wii.

[QUOTE='Swifty_Magee']No definite system has been confirmed, but I will lead you to this Kotaku article about the subject. LordQuorthon I read that a few days ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Street Fighter IV is released on every current platform, including PSP and DS.

If it was on the Wii the clasic controller would be really well suited for it. I think that Street Fighter 4 should be released on the Wii, for two reasons. 1) The graphics and fluidity of Super Smash Bros Brawl Wii has shown that the Wii is more than powerful enough to do Street Fighter 4. If you look at the gameplay of Street Fighter 4, it is no more complicated than Killer Instinct Gold on the N64 nearly a decade ago. In fact, 2.5D was done in Mortal Kombat as well, ages ago. The 3D Mortal Kombat games have had some nice cell shading and good fluidity, even if the fully 3D background was a bit clunky re movement on some older systems. The visuals are nice, but not so nice as to be more complicated than 2.5D games released a decade ago on older systems.

This is just me playing Street Fighter Alpha 2. Please make sure you read EVERYTHING or listen to what I am saying, before you post a comment. Nothing to great about me playing SFA II. Just something I felt like doing today.

Odds are it's Capcom so I'd say really 50/50 depending how their other 'mature' titles fare on the system that end up being shoveled over like Dead Rising and so on. They said it's possible but could come later to the Wii and PSP as a second tier project once they've moved through this HD cycle with that pair. I personally don't see it very likely as Capcom is pretty slimy and twofaced when it comes to Nintendo.

Look at Xbox360, their games are dumbing down FPS games and games in general across the board. [QUOTE='kenakuma'] its only gonna end up on 360 and ps3, at least those are the only 2 consoles announced so far, sf3 and sf2 anniversary last gen only came out on xbox and ps2!

Maybe they'll release one for PS3/Xbox 360 first, then a Wii version, then a DS version, then a PSP version and then even a PC version, not necessarily in that order. It's simply the most sensible thing Capcom can do. That sounds like a good plan, as they've said before that they want to get it to as many people as possible. As long as the controls held up (for instance, allowing players to use a GC controller), I'd play it on the Wii.

Robotube wrote: This is interesting to me. What controller do you find superior to the Wii Classic Controller? Why would you feel the CC can't handle Street Fighter? It's as good as, if not better than the SNES contoller which pioneered SF-at-home. Theres not enough buttons on the Wii-mote, Classic Controller or GC Controller for a Street fighter Game. Its a 6 button set that needs 8 buttons to play. 3 punches & kicks and 3P & 3K.
