This is your lucky day.
– Make sure the SSL is still checked and the timezone is correct. – Goto Tools–>Update Manager – Select your controller and click ‘Update’.
I'm going to leave my emotions out of it and simply say. Control4 is a brilliant idea, executed well - though not flawlessly - and let down by hardware that isn't as reliable as a light switch should be, and also by software that is hobbled. (When a $100 light switch fails and you can't swap it out yourself, that's a MAJOR problem in my books. And I have expensive Control4 amplifiers that last just longer than their warranty period.) My investment is probably nearer $25k. And I would also never equip another home with Control4 *or* recommend it. You have to understand.
And files too. Hit the and drop me note.
Would you like to continue to wait?” Thoughts? Try to use latest patch, not one which you can find in download of 2.6.0. Steps: Try first this Step 1. Uninstall all composers Step 2. Install Composer 2.8.1 Step 3. Patch the Composer Step 4.
I guess the EA3 would have to be the Director in the system to do this. Wish someone had a EA director patch. Blackhawks2 Can you look and see what Cert files you have in the directory C: Users yourusername AppData Roaming Control4 Composer I would be curious if there is a new cert in there for the EA series. I have 4/27/2016 01:45 PM 887 ca.pem 01:55 PM 1,309 cacert-beta.pem 01:55 PM 7,315 cacert-beta2.pem 01:55 PM 7,318 cacert-prod.pem 01:45 PM 1,074 ca_cert.pem 07:15 AM 17 ca_cert.srl 07:21 AM 1,883 certcache.xml 07:15 AM 1,765 composer.p12 01:55 PM 3,119 ComposerProSettings.Config 01:55 PM 138 controllers.xml 07:15 AM 21,202 devices.xml 07:22 AM 11,602 devices_27.xml 01:55 PM 12,723 devices_28.xml 09:37 AM 2,542 locations.xml 01:55 PM 159 MyDriversHistory.xml 09:38 AM 9,687 openssl.conf •.
In Patch2.5.3 Folder are Step1 & Step2 folders. In Step 1 folder: 1. Run “ComposerPro-installation” as admistrator. Don’t open control4. Copy ( ca.pem ca_cert.pem ) files to /user/AppData/Roaming/Control4/Composer (You need to set folder options to show hidden files to locate user/appdata) 3. Copy “ ComposerPro.exe” to Conrol4 installation directory.
And no, I won’t be posting the certificates because I am unsure whether they contain personal data. I agree with this. I had my Mac VM setup from 2.53>2.7.2>2.8.0>2.8.1 and could not skip any steps trying to setup my desktop. You MUST go through each sequential version as the the new software now generates ca-beta.pem, cacert-beta2.pem and cacert-prod.pem in addition to the original two cert files. Just today I was able to get a new setup working by following the three step patching for each version Repeating the three patch steps for 2.5.3 then 2.7.2 then 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 For your out of sync drivers, you can go to update drivers and select each driver, select “Sync Newest” and it will download a local driver from the controller or online if that is the newest source. Ok, so I played with this some more and found an easier way to get PRO to work without even installing and using HE. Install ComposerPro.
Anyway, just like the rest of the posts say, every change or failed (colored lights blinking) switch would cost the 'minimum service call fee' for the *** installer. I started using the cracked software to fix/configure basic stuff but stopped expanding the system.
I wonder if some of you could post the original (before director patching) here? If you have a non patched 2.5.3 (probably any other versions of controller will be the same if > 2.0) just follow these instructions (from a Linux or OSX box, or use putty on a windows box): ssh root@ password: t0t4lc0ntr0l4! Once at the hash prompt, just run: cat /etc/openvpn/clientca-prod.pem and paste here.
It’s entirely possible that none of what I’ve written applies in 2.x. So it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but wanted to let everyone know that the instructions I posted back on October 19, 2015 still apply.
After all of the instructions are followed, you will still get director/broker errors trying to login to your newly upgraded controller. You can get past this by: 1) Open System Manager (there is a link at the bottom left of the connection screen, or you can open it from the directory/start menu) 2) Connect to your controller and click the “Status” tab. IN THIS ORDER: -disable director -disable broker -enable director -enable broker Then it works! Hi Dave, Hope you are doing great! I tried many time with the approach mentioned here, somehow keep getting SSl error for 2.5.3, couldn’t able to move forward. Currently I have dealer installed 2.5.3 system. I’m trying to take control of my system so that I can do the below: 1.
In Patch2.5.3 Folder are Step1 & Step2 folders. In Step 1 folder: 1. Run “ComposerPro-installation” as admistrator.
When I try to change something, I get the project is locked. I don’t think this is related to the way I cracked the softwareI think it is from when I tried 2.2.4 pro on my 2.6 system (I know stupid!)I got the same error then. Maybe someone else can try the cracked software on their system? If anyone could, I would be happy to know.
Currently I have dealer installed 2.5.3 system. I’m trying to take control of my system so that I can do the below: 1. Upgrade my system to 2.8.2 OS Version 2. Add Ecobee thermostat driver 3.

Please re-identify the controller and then complete registration (no idea what the last sentance is trying to tell me) What is done in the software to determine if a project is locked or not? Jim, I was getting that error message just last night. I believe it was because I had unregistered the controller from my.control4.com prior to upgrading.
