Atheros Powerline Toolkit

This document is the manual for the Qualcomm Atheros Open Powerline Toolkit. New users should read the first chapter before starting using the toolkit because it will answer many questions about toolkit installation, structure, content and application. QCA Production Powerline Toolkit by Qualcomm Atheros. Versions: 2.1.

Any ideas what this can be? Thanks in advance. Hi Zibri, (update, thaught i'd share the information) It looks like the problem is solved. I saved the prescale values to a file and then examined the contents. What i noticed was that the corresponding amplitude values to the tones were somewhat low. (most of them were below 0dB) This indicated a weak signal.

Hi Zibri, Seems that the link for firmware 3.3.4.8 has vanished now. Any chance of a reupload? I've got two generic ones with the 6300 chipset in coming next week. One of the advantages of moving house I guess - you get to get new toys!:P Cheers!

One pair's firmware is INT6300-MAC-3-0-3052-116-FINAL-B the other firmware is INT6400-MAC-4-0-40-20090501-FINAL-C I also get an error like 'Device manager version does not match the target, limited options apply, considering upgrading. When trying to use the NP201AV Powerline Utility software. @Brett, @anyone, Any news if INT6400's can have their firmware changed?

Hello again, As said in my previous message, my Devolo AVPlus 200 stopped working after upgrading the firmware to version 4.1. Devolo's own driver update program wouldn't let me reinstall the firmware or install an older firmware, saying that I already had the most recent version. Having contacted Devolo's technical support and not getting any real help from them, I decided to try the Device Manager on my AVPlus 200.

Many 200 Mb/s powerline adapters nowadays are based on the INTELLON 6300 chipset. Despite what can be thought looking at them, they are all using the same hardware and firmwares. I heard many people with Netgear XAV101 or Linksys PLK 200 or PLE 200 having problems after firmware updates and many other people with other brands having much more problems because of lack of support or configuration/upgrade utilities.

Plcboot only performs a one-time boot when given the options above. To make the firmware permanent again, the flash needs to be rewritten. (Allegedly, plcboot can do that too, but it needs a “softloader” file, which I couldn’t be bothered to extract from the TP-Link software.) Hints and issues • The plcboot and plctool utility may need root permissions, since they try to write raw packets to the ethernet interface.

3) Have downloaded three of the links – ClassB-Solwise-PIB-FW.zip (and unzipped it), 3052.rar, and DM.rar. Do I need the big setup and upgrade utility file? 4) What should I do next? Considering that this is supposed to be sooooo easy, I am confused and frustrated. Sorry to be so dense, but don’t want to mess this up. Thanks Steve said.

Can someone post the firmware with boosted prescale? As Eddie has written before, I would also really like to know how to flash the latest Devolo firmware on other INT6000-based devices. I've already extracted the firmware and dozens of PIB files but I'm quite unsure how to proceed. I've managed the cross-update using the int6k.exe tool bundled with LeaCom's Softplug app:-) said. Is there a device manager that works on Win 7? The one to modify PIBs?

Both operators will deploy Atheros’ EoC technology as they strengthen their infrastructure to support next-generation broadband and digital TV services. Facts/Highlights: • The AR7400 is a fourth-generation HomePlug chipset that delivers carrier-grade broadband communications over both power lines and coax. This gives broadband providers a flexible platform to support a variety of next-generation services without overhauling or retrofitting their existing infrastructure.

That piece of software only tells me that it can’t find the local device. A quick web search (“TP-Link PowerLine failed firmware fix” and similar) didn’t come up with anything good right away. Well then, I thought, let’s see if it gives off any signs of life. I directly connected the PLC to my trusty MacBook and fired up WireShark. When the first packets started appearing I breathed a sigh of relief. The PLC still manages to get an ethernet link up. Amidst the stuff the Mac fires off when detecting a link (DHCP, MDNS, etc.) I finally found what I was looking for: Broadcast packets, “HomePlug AV” protocol, “Atheros_something” MAC, “Action Required Notification (Bootloader)”.
